I think it is time for a rant. I have been mulling over this idea in my cranium for approximately a fortnight.
How easily can you justify devaluing human life? To answer the question, do you own an iPhone or an LED/LCD television? Nike's? Have you ever referred to a person as a border jumper or sand jockey? Here is where the theory comes into play. Each person has a drastically different perception on their personal reality. Every individual will define experiences in their own terms. Labels will be placed on unexplainable things to quell the mind. But what do you have to tell yourself to buy a pair of shoes that could have been made by a child? Why do we buy all of our things from Wal-Mart who, in essence, under cut other companies to save pennies on the dollar. We work for these company's. We supply the negativity that has created the problems of today. Couple that with the abuse of power we see at the top. All the corruption distributed to the masses by Wikileaks. Let us take a step back, lettuce get deep inside our heads to think of some of the our darkest thoughts. Saving money is enticing, but what is money? Creating jobs is important, but at what cost? What do you really need? Why bigger, faster, better, more lights, flashier? Sometimes we are just hurting ourselves. Surviving is not exponential growth of ones wallet. Living doesn't mean taking from other living things. We are no better than any other living being. We need to stop acting like it before none of us can enjoy this life.
